About C.A.L.E.B God’s Kingdom Work.
C.A.L.E.B is a non-denominational Christian Revival Outreach Ministry. It is not under the aegis of any particular ‘church’ or religious organization. it is a Ministry that is open to all who would join, identify or associate with its beliefs, work, or Mission.
The acronym and acrostic C.A.L.E.B state our identity and purpose. The further entitlement God’s Kingdom Work makes the clear statement that we are not simply another “church” But rather a universal “Work” in these last days to essentially unite all true believers in the ‘Body of Christ’ for the primary work of reaching all men of all races color and creed with the most essential provision to human life – Christian Salvation and Kingdom living. Matt. 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; then shall the end come.
The letters C.A.L.E.B, as well as the name Caleb, will be seen to have profound significance to our identity and Mission. The capital letters and periods – C.A.L.E.B as stated above stand for Christians in Agreement to Liberate and Enlighten believers for God’s Kingdom. We define each word in this statement as follows.
(1) Christians: This is our personal and collective identity. We are not defined by any denominational term as obtains in the diverse arena of Christendom today. This does not mean we reject the various churches and denominations from which we come or belong. it means we do not choose to be defined or identified essentially by these. The Bible states that believers in the early church were called Christians first in Antioch. Acts 11:26 the word simply means ‘follower of Christ’ Acts 26:28 and 1 Pet. 4:16 reveals that this term Christian became the simple identity of those who believed and followed the teachings of Christ.
(2) Agreement: ( harmony, accordance in opinion or feelings ) This word simply describes our relationship and bond with each other. The Bible profoundly stresses this Agreement, and these are the words of Christ: Matt. 18;19 And again I say unto you, if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. The Bible also reveals that this vital Agreement is not simply referring to our agreement with a select “prayer partner” or a particular group. It is a requirement for supernatural enablement for God’s Kingdom Work. Deut. 32:30 reveals this it says One shall chase a thousand but two shall put ten thousand to flight. In Acts 2:1 we see that it was when the Body of Believers at Pentecost were all with one accord in one place;… that they received the mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit and was able to impact the then known world as never before.
(3) Liberate: ( to set free or loose ) This word essentially defines our Mission as mandated to us by Christ Himself. Isiah 61:1 many centuries before the advent of Christ, prophetically describes His Mission to mankind. In Luke 4:18 Christ confirms this with his own declaration of the very same words. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bound. Our Mission is not to tell people how to acquire “health, wealth” or prosperity in this life as is the popular message of Christendom everywhere today. It is to set men free by the authority God has invested in us as agents of Deliverance, from the curse of sin and the influence of the Ruler of Darkness in this present world-order – Satan, the arch-enemy of God and man.
The World-Order itself endorses the fact that knowledge is the is the most powerful tool man possesses to change his behavior status and environment. Note the world’s emphasis on Education, everywhere this phrase is ringing. “Education is the key to success”. The Scriptures reveal that in the last days there would be such an emphasis on Education, but with an exclusion of God’s Word which is not just mere knowledge but essentially truth. It says men will be Ever learning, and never coming to a knowledge of the truth. 2 Tim.3:17. This World Order is in a crisis of truth. Many centuries ago the Roman Governor Pilate at the Crucifixion of Jesus asked this momentous question; What is truth? Jn. 18:38. Today this modern world declares that there is no absolute moral truth. They live by the Social Philosophy of Moral Relativism, where moral right or wrong depends on the individual’s context and perspective.
Jesus declares and shows that the locus of moral truth lies only in the Word of God. Jn. 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. He also declares, And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. Jn. 8:32. C.H Spurgeon one of the greatest preachers says: “To preach the whole truth is an awful charge”. Today the compromise and half-truths from modern pulpits is palpable. The words of another great preacher Charles Finney are also very timely. he says; “away with a milk and water preaching of a love of Christ that has no holiness or moral discrimination…”. It is our mandate to preach this truth that alone truly Liberate men.
(4) Enlighten: (to furnish knowledge, and give spiritual insight.) Our Mission to Enlighten is not simply to preach or teach in some building we call “church” on a Sunday, Saturday, Wednesday, or any other day of the week. It is not simply about intellectual development as the world largely perceives learning. It is in being the actual radiators of light and life, as living examples in a dark and dying world. Without our Mission in this world, the natural occurrence is darkness and death just as it is with the natural source of light and energy in the physical world. The sun which is the center of our Solar System and the sustainer of all vital ecosystems was created by God. Its function is essential to all life-forms including man. Hence in Gen. 1:3, God declares before the creation of living things: Let there be light… The Bible also reveals that it is Christ who is the Sustainer of all life on the Spiritual level. From the O.T Mal. 4:2 speaks prophetically and figuratively of Christ as the “the Sun” S-U-N: But unto you, that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings… Jn. 1 is the account of Spiritual Regeneration of life for the world as Genesis 1 is the account of Natural Creation of all life. Jn. 1:3-4 states concerning Christ: v.3 All things were created by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. v.4 In him was life and the life was the light of men.
(5) Believer: (Someone who believes in something or someone.) We use this word not in the narrow confines of only those formally called Christians or those who go to a “church”. we use this word to refer to persons both in and out of churches and to those who make some formal or informal commitment to some religious belief. The word ‘belief’ is at the very root of our faith and message as Christians. The Bible says in Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. We then understand that one must believe before they can become Christians. but we also understand that one cannot properly believe what was not clearly explained to them. Hence our responsibility in “Enlightenment” of “Believers” is the same for those who are hearing for the first time as well as many who are ignorant and misguided in many places that even bear the name “church”. The Bible reveals that this is the way that it is supposed to be Rom. 10;13-14 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. v.14 How then shall they call on him whom they have not believed? And how shall they hear without a preacher? It is then our responsibility, as much as possible to give each person a fair opportunity to hear God’s Word.
As was stated the name Caleb is not a chance outcome of our playing with letters in an acronym. Caleb as many O.T characters holds a powerful and significant place to us as believers in the present. Joshua as a person is maybe the most profound example of a ‘type’ (a “shadow” in the O.T) pointing to something or someone in the N.T. Joshua who was an Army Captain of ancient Israel is a clear O.T type of the Lord Jesus Christ. Even his very name was the same as Jesus in Hebrew: (Yeshua) – meaning Deliverer or Savior.) He led persons into a temporal Promise Land, called the “rest of God” in Scripture; Ps. 94:11 Heb. 3:11. Caleb is seen to be the most ardent, vigilant, and faithful follower of Joshua in their military possession of Canaan. Scripture highly commends Caleb, not just as one who simply faithfully followed Joshua, but as one who wholly followed the Lord…
This has very serious significance to us as Believers today because again the very name of this awesome O.T character is instructive to us. The name Caleb in Hebrew means Dog. What is of transcendent interest to us is that there are at least five (5) places in Scripture that refer to Caleb as one who …wholly followed the Lord. They can be found in Num. 14:24. Num. 32:12 and Joshua 14:8, 9 and 14. The amazing Revelation is that the meaning of his name as Dog is seen to match his character for no other animal surpasses the ability of dogs to follow or track persons or other animals. the other profound revelation is that any normal dictionary will also confirm that the word ‘dog’ is linked, to ardent-following, perseverance, discipline, etc. The words dogged, dogging even dogma confirm the amazing accuracy of God’s Word.
Hence we see Caleb as God’s profound example for us today. However, our Army Captain is not Joshua whom Scripture tells us did not essentially lead into this final place of rest. Heb. 4:8 For if Jesus (Joshua) had given them rest then would he not have spoken of another day. Heb. 2:10. And it is he alone who leads into the perfect rest of God in this present day. Heb. 4:3 For we which have believed do enter into rest as he said. v.7 Today after so long a time as it is said, if ye will hear his voice harden not your hearts. It is clearly then no coincidence that Christ Himself also uses the word follow so significantly in His Ministry. Each of the four (4) Gospels carries at least six (6) emphatic and significant utterances of Christ concerning following Him. Some examples are: Matt. 4:19 Follow me and I will make you fishers of men. Mark 2:14 …he saw Levi the son Alphaeus sitting at the tax office, and said unto him, follow me. Luke 9:23 If any man will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. Jn. 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them and they follow me.
If the Lord has been speaking to your heart through these humble notes, you can begin by opening your heart to the pleading of the Holy Spirit. if you are someone unsaved and needing further enlightenment to make a full commitment, a Christian who is confused about the many conflicting doctrinal and theological views in Christendom, or a mature Christian who is genuinely burdened about the state of modern Christendom. Then the Lord is right now ministering to your urgent needs as well as calling you to your true place in God’s Kingdom Work today.
